How Your Librarian Can Help
Academic Services Librarians provide comprehensive support including:
Research Support: Assistance with detailed subject enquiries, advanced search techniques, database selection, and developing effective research strategies for assignments and dissertations.
One-to-One Consultations: Face-to-face meetings in person or online to discuss your specific research needs.
Information Literacy Sessions: Teaching sessions on library skills, search techniques, critical evaluation of sources, and referencing tailored to your level of study.
Resource Guidance: Help locating books, e-books, journal articles, specialist databases, and other materials relevant to your subject area.
Citation and Referencing: Support with referencing to help you avoid plagiarism and academic misconduct.
Subject Support Point: Located in the Sheppard-Worlock Library, this is where you can meet with Academic Services Librarians for detailed research support on a drop-in basis. The Support Support Point is staffed from 2pm-4pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and from 11am-1pm on Wednesday.
Other Ways to Get Library Help
Library Help Point: Library Assistants are available during core opening hours (Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm) to provide help with finding physical books, library account issues, loan renewals, and general enquiries.
